Bouncing Baby Brittany's - Take Two!

Larison's Remington (The legendary Nolan's Last Bullets, granddaughter) and my best 4-legged friend in the world... Has once again come together with Groustangle's Nolan's Blazin Colt to produce 7 beautiful Brittany's.  If you've ever hunted with either one of these dogs, then you know they are both serious bird dogs, but it doesn't end there.  These are also some of the most affectionate, and biddable Brittany's I've ever been around.  The outcome was 7 beautiful, and healthy pups born on July 19th (5 girls & 2 boys).  These pups will be ready for their forever homes just after Labor Day. Remi is orange/white roan, while Colt is Liver/white with some ticking.  The result was 4 orange and white & 3 Liver and white, some of both colors will be roan, but all will be lookers!

The total cost of these AKC registered sweethearts is $650.00 Reserve your pick now with a $100.00 non refundable deposit.

I'd love to see these little bird slayers go to hunting homes, but as long as they will be loved we're happy to see them go to any GOOD home.  This is Remi's 2nd and final liter, she and I have way to many birds "calling our names" to spend anymore time caring for puppie! LOL. So last chance for pup out of this proven serious bird dog.

Meet our babies - (Nick named by Stacy & girls)

Meet "Oscar" White/Live Male

Meet "GiGi" (Golden Globe) Liver/White Female

Meet "Jolie" (After Angelina Jolie) but I call her (Remi Jr) both for the same reasons.  She is a looker!

Meet "Tony" Orange/White male

meet "Espy" - She was a super fast delivery!

Meet "Emmy" Another pretty little gal!

"Razzi" - This little Liver/Roan is a Prize!

We are located in Plain City Ohio.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to give me a call.
Hope you enjoyed the pictures, we sure are enjoying the pups.

Sincerely,
Matt Larison

Summer Update - Kids, Sports, Puppies, and.....Frogs?

Hi Folks, well it's been another busy spring and so like most years I haven't been able blog much since winter.  But here is a quick update for the past few months, and glance at what is ahead this fall.

We wrapped up baseball season on the 4th of July down at the Ripken Experience in Pigeon Forge TN.  Owen's Ohio Elite baseball team finished its season 37-13 winning top honors at several tournaments, while also finishing in the top two at several more.  It was a great season, and these 10 year old dedicated players played some of the best 10 year old baseball I have ever seen. Just a couple quick highlights.  Our defense averaged only 1.5 errors per game (Better than most high school teams) during the course of our season. We defeated teams from 5 other states and 1 other country including the Indiana Bulls to with the Bulllpen Freedem Classic at Grand park in Indianapolis.  Won the inaugural Ripkin Cabin Feaver tournament in March at Pigeon Forge, before returning there this summer.  We played the best of the best competition all year, so to finish 37-13 speaks volumes about these boys.  It was a season to remember. Pictured below showing off their championship rings from the Bullpen tournament win in Indiana.

I love the time that Owen and get to spend together during baseball season. Here he is getting he ring from that tourney.

Hunter was busy all Spring with her Club Volleyball team.  She had a good season was named team MVP leading them in Kills, and serving. (#7 pictured below) Stacy and I spent a lot of spring in two different states or towns becasue club volleyball always seem to head a different direction than baseball!

Nolan finished up lacrosse in the early spring, and begin focusing on football season for fall.  Well he never really stopped focusing on football as you tell from the picture below. (He's getting BIG)  He got his first college football letter inviting him to a college camp.  Somehow, our draw for the baseball tournament that weekend allowed me to take him up to Malone University in Akron, Ohio.

Baylee continued working on her music skills playing the flute & piano and sticking with her lessons through the summer, and of course being our "easy kid" that doesn't drag us out of town every weekend to a function.  She, Stacy, and Hunter did sneak away at one point on a girls trip for a few days of R & R on the beach in Fort Meyers.  Lucky Girls!
Here are a few pics of that trip.

On to the Larison Brittany's - Puppies on the way!!!
As I sit and write today, I am literally watching and waiting on Remi to go into labor and deliver her and Colt's second litter of puppies.  Remi is at that stage of pregnancy where she is miserable, so I'm sure if there was anything she could do to hurry it along she would!  This will be her and Colts final litter, so for you readers that have hunted over her, and think you may want one of her puppies this is your last chance. As far as Colt, Nelli, and Annie - well they are as excited for summer to be over and fall to usher in as is Remi to deliver these puppies.
Remi - looking like a balloon animal! Won't be long kid, won't be long!

In the Spirit of my typical outdoor/hunting themes -
Recently, I was invited by a good friend to go Frog Gigging.  Seemingly a redneck activity and something I had never taken my boys to do, we were IN! I had not messed around with frogs since I was a kid, but I had never really been frog-gigging.  Well baseball season ended, and the next Friday night, Owen, Nolan and I were all dressed in waders, and heading to meet our good friend Matt Schmalz at a near by wild life area wetland.

The boys and I were a little unsure what to expect, but we had a GREAT time!  We were early getting there, so we waited anxiously at the trucks geared up, with gigs in hand.

Yes - Hillbilly for sure, but some good clean fun.  When dark finally fell we strapped our headlamps on, Nolan headed off with our friend Matt, and Owen and I set off in our own direction.  It took Owen and I about 45 minutes to finally figure out what we were looking for, but once we learned to look for the eyes, it was on!  Owen was a little unsure of waders, and walking around in this unfamiliar water in the dark, but it wasn't and he was totally comfortable sticking big bullfrogs left and right!  We had a blast, and lots of success!  Nolan stuck 7, I got 10, and Owen bagged 8 (Matt being the more experienced frog Hunter came away with a limit 15!)
Look at the size of those suckers!

Well we got home in the wee hours of the morning, and left the frogs on ice.  Owen and I got up the next morning and cleaned the frogs, and prepared a masterful feast! Deep fried panko crusted and beer battered, Frog legs, mozzarella sticks, and fried Oreos for desert!  Who knew that frog gigging could be so much fun, and so delicious!

Fried Oreo's

Well the boys and I shared another awesome memory together, and learned a new entertaining outdoorsmans activity to do in the summer. As well as shared a darn good meal!!!!

Well Fall is in the crosshairs, and so it won't be long and we'll be chasing those Brittany's across this country again.  This year our fall hunting will kick off with Dove Season in September.  Next I'll be traveling to PA grouse hunting with Mr Hamer, and heading back to the UP of MI chasing grouse and woodcock.  Then the normal group will head Across the plains of South Dakota shooting those big Ringnecks, and finally a waterfowl trip for Nolan and I.  The by product of a friendly motivation wager for some much needed weight loss for me, and weight gain for Nolan.  WE BOTH WON!

I hope you enjoyed hearing about our spring, and look forward to our fall.  I KNOW I AM!!!!

Thanks,
Matt
